Middle States Draft Self-Study Report

September 23, 2017

Members of the Rutgers Community:

As Dr. Barchi mentioned in his annual address to the University Senate on Friday, September 22, Rutgers University is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education and is scheduled for its decennial reaccreditation review in March of 2018.  A significant part of the reaccreditation involves the submission of an Institutional Self-Study Report, a document that has been developed through the efforts of more than 100 members of the Rutgers community including faculty, students, administrators, staff, alumni, and members of the Boards of Governors and Trustees. We want to thank the members of the Self-Study Steering Committee and the seven Working Groups for their leadership in preparing us for this upcoming evaluation. A preliminary draft of the Self-Study is now available for your review at https://oirap.rutgers.edu/DataAccessControl/Self_Study/Login.aspx. Please log in with your netID and password. User tips for navigating between different sections of the document and for opening external links appear on page 2. We encourage you to review the document and submit your feedback about the draft Self-Study report to the Middle States Steering Committee by e-mail at middlestates2018@rutgers.edu. Also, please send any questions or issues relating to accessing the document to middlestates2018@rutgers.edu.

In the weeks ahead we will be meeting with various University organizations to discuss the Middle States process and obtain feedback on the report. The University also will hold a series of community forums in Camden, Newark, and New Brunswick to provide you with further opportunity to comment and make suggestions on the preliminary draft.

We are appreciative of all the hard work by those who have already been involved in the Middle States process, and encourage participation from every part of the University community.
