Ann Gould, Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs

Ann GouldAnn Gould is Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs.  As an advisor to the Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs (SVPAA), Dr. Gould provides leadership, coordination, oversight, and support in the management of the University’s academic programs, personnel, partnerships, and initiatives.  She works closely with the SVPAA on University-wide academic policy issues, accreditation actions, and sponsored programs, and represents the SVPAA with both internal and external constituents.  In concert with other team members in the SVPAA office, Dr. Gould reviews all international and domestic academic agreements, provides oversight of decanal and chancellor evaluations, drafts or updates University policy and responses on academic matters, directs Middle States Commission on Higher Education periodic and interim reviews, and participates in special projects attached to this office.

As faculty member and former Associate Extension Specialist in the Department of Plant Biology, School of Environmental and Biological Sciences, Dr. Gould’s extension program has focused on diseases of ornamental plants, with primary interest on the incidence and severity of Bacterial leaf scorch of oak in the New Jersey urban forest.  Recently, Dr. Gould served as Plant Biology Undergraduate Program Director, and she continues to advise and mentor students in the program as well as teach courses in plant pathology.  Dr. Gould holds a PhD in Plant Pathology from the University of Kentucky and M.S. and B.S. degrees in Biology from Illinois State University.  She joined the Rutgers faculty in 1990.
