iJobs: Navigating Career Transitions

Shanique Edwards, an alum of Rutgers PhD programs will talk about how career transitions are easier when you are intentional about them and approach them strategically. Having a plan for your career transition is especially important if you’re the first one to make your way into a particular career path, or if you’re unsure about your long-term career goals. This workshop will help you navigate significant career transitions, including moving from being a graduate student to a postdoc, a trainee to a faculty/employee, or even stepping into your first leadership role. In this session, you will gain strategies for (i) preparing for, and successfully transitioning to a new role; (ii) taking advantage of, and creating opportunities; (iii) how to find and leverage your unique advantage.
