Mohammad Katibeh
Control Co-Design Optimization of Floating Offshore Wind Turbines
Advisor: Dr. Onur Bilgen
Mohammad Katibeh is a Ph.D. candidate at Rutgers-New Brunswick in the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department. He works in the Smart Systems Lab under the supervision of Dr. Onur Bilgen, where he studies the applications of smart materials in the structural and aerodynamic optimization of ornithopter wings. His areas of expertise are design optimization, finite element analysis, fluid-structure interaction, and data analysis. Mohammad has also been a teaching assistant (TA) at Rutgers University since 2018 for multiple courses such as Fluid Dynamics, Thermodynamics, Aerospace Structures, Dynamic Systems and Control, Drone Fundamentals, Mechanical Component Design, and Senior Labs. He served as a co-advisor to two groups of students in the 2022 NJ Governor School of Engineering and Technology (GSET) Summer Program. Both groups submitted papers to the MIT Undergraduate Research Technology Conference (URTC).
