Data Science for Improved Offshore Wind Energy Operation

Andrei Dumitriu is an undergraduate at Rutgers-New Brunswick pursuing an Electrical and Computer Engineering degree. His broad academic interests are in Power Systems and Energy Markets. During the summer of 2022 Andrei completed an internship as an Energy Market Analyst at Hitachi Energy. Andrei's interests are in transmission and renewable energy analytics. In recent positions, his role was to create and use production cost models to evaluate the economic viability of renewable projects in several ISOs. His goal is to learn more about the U.S. electricity market and how renewable energy can meet ambitious climate change goals and provide a robust generation dispatch. He believes that wind energy development can benefit developers and consumers if the renewable energy industry can overcome its two barriers: reliability and predictability.
