The 2025 Welch Award Call for Nominations (Deadline: January 31)

Deans, Directors, and Chairpersons:

Nominations are now being accepted for the Welch Award in Chemistry. The award is designed “to foster and encourage basic chemical research and to recognize, in a substantial manner, the value of chemical research contributions for the benefit of mankind.” The award is meant to recognize “contributions that have not previously been rewarded in a similar manner” and carries a monetary prize of $500,000.  

Please submit your nominations directly to the award sponsor. Nominations are due by January 31, 2025. Anyone can submit a nomination for consideration, but self-nominations will not be accepted. For more information, please visit the Welch Foundation website or email welchaward@welch1.org.
