Accessing Your Course in Canvas

Canvas is the Learning Management System used at Rutgers to deliver online courses, including continuing education (CE).

When you register for an online CE course, you will receive a confirmation email detailing how to access it in Canvas.

New Canvas Students

Noncredit students will receive an email with instructions to complete the Canvas account setup. The email contains a link to the “Welcome Aboard!” login screen, where students will be prompted to create a Canvas password. Once a password has been set, noncredit students should use the Email Login button to access their Canvas Dashboard and enrolled course(s).

Existing Canvas Students

Noncredit students should use the Email Login button on the Canvas homepage to access their courses. If necessary, passwords can be retrieved using the "Forgot Password?" link.

Users with a Rutgers NetID

Rutgers Faculty, staff, and matriculated students who have previously accessed Canvas using a Rutgers NetID should use the NetID Login button on the Canvas homepage and follow the prompts to access their courses.

Additional Resources

Students can access a variety of resources on the Rutgers Canvas homepage, including a self-paced student orientation that is available without logging in.
