A New Digital Accessibility Badge Series Launches
University Academic Affairs is pleased to announce that a new four-course Digital Accessibility Badge Series launched on April 15, 2026. This badge series will provide many of the necessary skills to comply with the new Americans with Disabilities Act, Title II regulations.
The Digital Accessibility Badge Series comprises four self-paced courses related to creating inclusive and accessible digital content. It is designed to support faculty, staff, or students in creating more accessible courses and documents.
This series provides practical strategies and hands-on skills for using Word, PowerPoint, PDFs, Canvas, and Kaltura. These skills will also help course participants create more accessible social media posts, websites, documents, etc., since the themes remain the same across platforms.
Each course includes assignments and provides a micro-credential after successful completion. Participants who complete the two required courses and one elective course (three in total) will earn the Digital Accessibility Badge.
The recommended sequence for course completion:
- Introduction to Accessibility (required): Click to Enroll
- One or both of the following electives:
This badge series was developed in a collaborative effort by University Online Education Services (UOES), Rutgers Access and Disability Resources (RADR), both part of University Academic Affairs, and Teaching Innovation & Inclusive Design (TIIP), School of Public Health (SHP), and Office of Information Technology Accessibility (OITA).
