Project (Working) Title: Stock Enhancement and Aquaculture as Means to Offset OSW Farm Impacts to Commercial Shellfisheries

LiYuan is a senior in the Honors College at Rutgers University–New Brunswick, majoring in Philosophy with double minors in Economics and Chinese. She is a recipient of the Rutgers James Dickson Carr Scholarship, a member of the Phi Sigma Tau International Philosophy Society and Phi Beta Kappa Honors Society.
LiYuan's previous research experience includes papers on the retributive justice system in America and an ethnography on American adoptees. She has served as a Legal Intern and Pro Bono Intern under the Immigrant Protection Unit for the New York Legal Assistance Group, a Science Communication Intern for "Mysteries of the North" Hydrothermal Vent Documentary (2023), and a Consulting Analyst for the Rutgers Consulting Group.
LiYuan believes that the intersection between aquaculture, economics, and public policy is deeply fascinating and important, especially as the need for sustainable food systems continues to rise. She is looking forward to the fellowship and is excited to learn from her mentor and peers this coming year.
