Biography

Eduardo Molina serves as vice president for institutional research and decision support within the Office of the Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs at Rutgers University. In support of the university’s vision for elevated academic standing and an enhanced role for institutional research, Molina leads efforts to foster a culture of data-informed decision-making. In this capacity, he integrates institutional research more closely with the university’s schools, centers, and institutes, promoting proactive and analytical approaches in service to Rutgers’ mission and its constituencies.

As vice president, Molina provides leadership and oversight for key areas, including institutional research, analysis, reporting, and effectiveness; data-centric decision support and analytics; and policy development. He also provides decision support and institutional-effectiveness analysis on university priorities, including financial sustainability, Student Affairs, AI initiatives, and universitywide surveys (HR, University Senate, and student surveys).

Molina possesses more than two decades of experience in higher education, including 16 years leading institutional research offices. Prior to joining Rutgers, he served as assistant vice president for institutional research and data integrity at New York University (NYU). At NYU, he coordinated efforts to solidify the data governance function across the university and established and supervised the Office of Data Governance. He developed more than 150 data dashboards for senior leadership and conducted research for multiple university-wide initiatives.

Before his tenure at NYU, Molina was director of institutional research at the University of Southern California (USC), where he developed and launched the institutional research function and coordinated the implementation of a campus-wide research agenda, including the development of statistics and research methodology training for campus partners and interactive reporting and analytics. Previously, he held multiple roles in the field of institutional research, including associate director for institutional research at Georgetown University, among others.
