Biography
Kim O’Halloran, Ph.D., serves as vice president for academic planning and administration for University Academic Affairs at Rutgers University. In this role, Dr. O’Halloran provides direction for multiple offices and functional areas, including academic planning, academic assessment, accreditation, academic leadership development, teaching evaluation & assessment research, and administration. She also serves as chief of staff for the executive vice president for academic affairs.
O’Halloran has worked for more than 30 years in higher education, including administrative and faculty posts at Cornell University, New York University, Montclair State University, and Widener University.
An alumna of Rutgers University, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and a master’s degree in education administration. She holds a doctorate in higher education administration from New York University.
O’Halloran’s research has focused on higher education organizations, collaboration in higher education, and the factors that impact persistence and success for non-traditional undergraduate and graduate students in higher education. She is a member of the Association for the Study of Higher Education, the American College Personnel Association, and the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators, where she co-founded the National Knowledge Community on Student Affairs, Partnering with Academic Affairs. She serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Continuing Higher Education.
