CACP About Us
It is our pleasure to welcome you to the new web page of the Committee to Advance Our Common Purposes, a university wide committee founded in 1987, which is an initiative of the Office of the Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs. Dr. Denise Rodgers, the Vice Chancellor for Inter-professional Programs, RBHS, serves as chair, and Isabel Nazario, Associate Vice President for Strategic Initiatives is co-chair of the committee.
We invite you to explore our new program, Dialogues Across Differences, is a sequence of student conversations taking place across the university to foster dialogue on complex, sometimes controversial issues. Through our grant program, become familiar with the research and community engagement projects of our students, faculty, staff and university-community partners that are transforming how we see and understand diversity, equity and inclusion across all of our campuses. See our photo gallery and learn about the honorees of our annual awards; the Clement Price Human Dignity Award and the Leaders in Faculty Diversity Awards.
Join us at our annual awards reception to celebrate the honorees and meet the members of the committee.
To sustain and nurture a civil, compassionate, intellectually honest, and inclusive academic community that is respectful and fosters dialogue, and interaction between those with differing views and belief systems.
The mission of the Committee to Advance Our Common Purposes is to recognize, promote and build capacity for university community development that values diversity, equity and inclusion.
