Aftershocks of Disaster: Puerto Rico a year after Maria is Rutgers University conference observing the anniversary of Hurricane Maria’s landfall in Puerto Rico.  The conference will feature a keynote discussion between award-winning author and journalist Naomi Klein and political anthropologist and current Carnegie Fellow, Dr. Yarimar Bonilla.  Prominent journalists, writers, artists, scholars, curators, and activists from Puerto Rico and the U.S. will reflect on the impact and aftershocks of hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico.  

The conference is free and open to the public and will be available via Livestream.  A direct link will be made available on this web page. 

The program is sponsored by the Office of the Senior VP for Academic Affairs. Co-sponsors include the Office of the Associate VP for Strategic Initiatives; Department of Latino and Caribbean Studies, Rutgers Global Programs, and the Institute for Research on Women.
