Dear, Rutgers Faculty, Staff and Students,

I am pleased to announce a call for nominations for the 2015–16 Clement A. Price Human Dignity Awards.  The Human Dignity Award program is administered by the Committee to Advance Our Common Purposes (CACP).  The award program was recently renamed to honor our late colleague and CACP member, Dr. Clement A. Price.  Clem directed the Rutgers Institute on Ethnicity, Culture and the Modern Experience, which he founded in 1996 at Rutgers University-Newark, and had been a valued member of the faculty since 1969.  A Board of Governors Distinguished Service Professor, Dr. Price worked tirelessly to make Newark, Rutgers, and New Jersey more diverse and inclusive.

The Clement A. Price Human Dignity Awards are administered by the CACP under the leadership of committee chair, Dr. Denise V. Rodgers, Vice Chancellor for Inter-professional Programs, RBHS; and committee vice chair, Isabel Nazario, Associate Vice President for Strategic Initiatives.

We are seeking your nomination(s) of outstanding individuals or groups who have demonstrated extraordinary achievement and commitment to promoting and practicing diversity and inclusion at Rutgers University and/or in partnership with the broader community. The nomination process is open to all University students, faculty, staff, community organizations, departments, centers, and units from Camden, Newark, New Brunswick/Piscataway, and RBHS.  Non-Rutgers individuals and groups whose projects have ties to the University and have demonstrated a commitment to diversity and inclusion are also eligible.

A sub-committee of CACP faculty and staff will oversee the selection of the honorees and the allocation of a monetary award in the amount of $1,000.  Please see attached a nomination application form for the criteria pertaining to prospective recipients of the award.
