Due May 15, 2017 for Mentors

(We are no longer accepting mentee applications.)

Designed to increase the engagement and scholarly productivity of faculty, the RCN Mentoring Program provides the infrastructure, training, and facilitation for faculty to participate in effective and collaborative mentoring partnerships beyond the departmental level.

  • Are you interested in career advancement or in helping another faculty member advance in their career?

  • Do you want to gain mentoring skills as a mentee, mentor, or co-mentor?

  • Do you need a new connection or a fresh perspective from someone outside of your department?

If you answered 'yes' to any of the above questions and can commit to the program activities (see program commitment below) we encourage you to apply.

Program Commitment

If accepted in the RCN Mentoring Program as a mentee, mentor or co-mentor, you are committing to dedicate 2–3 hours per month from October 2017 through August 2018 and agree to participate in the required orientation on Friday, October 6 from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. in New Brunswick.

Mentoring Options

You may apply to participate in one of two types of mentoring partnerships:

Option 1: Traditional Mentee/Mentor Partnership

  • A less experienced individual (a mentee) and a more experienced individual (a mentor) focused on advancing the professional, academic, and/or personal development of the mentee
  • Mentors are committed to helping their mentees grow; mentees are committed to learning from their mentors

Option 2: Peer-to-Peer Mentoring Partnership

  • Two individuals focused on advancing the professional, academic, and/or personal development of both individuals
  • The commitment to growth is collaborative—guiding one another and supporting self-directed development through information exchange, advising, and knowledge-sharing
