Roberta Leslie Biography
Dr. Roberta Leslie has been a member of the Rutgers University administration since 1994. She currently holds the position of Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs. She serves as a senior-level policy advisor to the Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and the Chancellor of Rutgers University-New Brunswick, with particular emphasis on international agreements, relations with other institutions of higher education and various government agencies, academic program development, transfer programs, and institutional accreditation.
Before joining the Rutgers University administrative staff, Dr. Leslie spent eleven years with the New Jersey Department of Higher Education, most recently serving as Assistant Chancellor for Planning and Research, supervising the work of a 22-person staff responsible for institutional licensure and accreditation, statewide strategic planning, statewide research and policy studies, and database management. Prior to this, Dr. Leslie was a Research Associate with the Research Group for Human Development and Educational Policy at SUNY, Stony Brook. She received her bachelor's degree from the University of Akron, and holds M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Sociology from the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
